For 140 years, Mutual Aid Agency (MAA) has been more than just an insurance provider—it has been a partner in faith, stewardship, and community. Since 1885, we have stood with churches, ministries, and individuals, ensuring that protection isn’t just a policy, but a promise. In 2025, we invite you to celebrate this historic milestone with us as we reflect on our past, engage with our community, and look ahead to the future of mutual aid.

Celebrating 140 Years: A Legacy of Faith, Growth, and Mutual Aid

Founded in 1885 as the Mutual Aid Society of Northeastern Kansas, MAA was created to help churches and individuals rebuild after times of hardship. What began around kitchen tables has grown into a nationwide insurance agency serving churches, businesses, homeowners, and individuals across multiple states.

While our coverage options have expanded to include business, renters, farm, auto, and umbrella insurance, our purpose remains the same: protecting what matters most while giving back to those in need. Through our Program of Mutuality, a portion of every premium supports the Brethren Mutual Aid Share Fund, providing financial assistance to individuals and ministries facing crisis.
