Happy New Year from Mutual Aid Agency
Happy New Year from Mutual Aid Agency!
While we reflect on the old year and make plans for 2023, MAA would like to share our big hopes. We’re resolving to change some things while keeping others exactly the same.
We will continue to:
- Provide the best customer service possible
- Delight in putting our clients first
- Maintain our mission of mutuality
- Be good stewards of our resources
- Do good in the world
We will work toward:
- Growing our staff
- Expanding our board of directors
- Connecting with folks in a variety of new ways, such as informational videos, letters and welcome packets
- Encouraging more online reviews to create a more robust internet presence
Those are MAA’s goals for the year. What are your resolutions?
Here are 5 of our favorite goals for the new year (bonus: they have nothing to do with weight).
Experiment in the Kitchen
Bored of the same old meals? Cooking a new recipe every week, or even once a month, is sure to inspire you in the kitchen. The internet abounds with recipes from all cultures and diets, or consider a cookbook like those from Brethren Press.
If being green is on your list of priorities for 2023, then it might be time to start composting. You can make this as simple as creating a space in the backyard for vegetable scraps, or as complex as using a compost bin. Our staff is focusing on the environment this year too by implementing more intentional recycling practices at the office.
Make Time for Music
Listen to hymns, learn an instrument, dance in the living room, pick up that long-forgotten flute—whatever makes your soul soar, prioritize that in 2023.
Try a “No Spend” Challenge
A “no spend” month is exactly that: A challenge where you only spend on essential bills, like insurance, housing payments, and food. Some folks go as far as to use up everything in their pantry and freezer in an effort to spend as little as possible!
Aside from being a fun experiment, a no-spend month encourages habits of intentional spending. It’s also a great time to get creative when it comes to family time—fun doesn’t have to cost anything,
Update Your Insurance
When was the last time you checked your insurance policy? If you’ve had renovations, built a shed, or gained a new driver in the house, please contact your insurance agent to make sure you have proper coverage.
The end of 2023 is a long way away, but it’s easy to get distracted from our goals. Keep focused on small wins every day to keep yourself moving in the right direction!
